The State of Camming, 2026

Live-supply, session, price and churn data from 35,257 cam models — measured, not estimated.

Since April 2026, SexCamFinder has continuously polled every model profile on four major private-show platforms — Streamate, LiveJasmin, Flirt4Free and ImLive. That polling has logged 8.8 million status intervals: every stretch of free chat, every private show, every member show, with start time and duration. Nobody publishes this data, so we are.

Unless a stat says otherwise, activity numbers below cover the last 28 days (14 July – 11 August 2026), and every stat carries a note on how it was measured. The caveats section at the end says plainly what this corpus is and isn't.

How many models are actually live

  • 26,279 distinct models streamed at least once in the last 28 days; 19,308 in the last 7 days.
  • At any given moment, an average of 1,938 models are live across the four platforms.
  • The day has a shape: the quiet hour is 11:00 UTC (1,485 live on average) and the peak is 21:00 UTC (2,309) — 55% more supply at peak than trough. There are two humps: an afternoon peak around 14:00–17:00 UTC and the main evening peak at 20:00–23:00 UTC.
  • The week has a shape too: Friday is the busiest day (2,135 live on average), Sunday the quietest (1,627) — 31% more models on a Friday. The single busiest cell in the whole grid is Thursday 21:00 UTC (2,601); the quietest is Sunday 11:00 UTC (1,303).

Method: average concurrency computed from 3.4M logged status intervals over exactly 4 weeks, so every weekday-hour cell averages 4 occurrences. Sessions capped at 12 hours; the handful still open at pull time counted to the pull.

The volume, in hours

  • 1,302,039 hours of live streaming in 28 days — about 46,500 hours of live cam per day. That's the equivalent of 1,938 models streaming 24/7 without a break (which is the same statement as the concurrency average — the two numbers cross-check).
  • 3.4 million status intervals — roughly 122,000 per day.

The shape of a cam session

Cam platforms flip a model between statuses: free chat, then a private, back to free chat. Each stretch is one interval, so these are the true lengths of each mode, not of a whole broadcast:

  • Median uninterrupted free-chat stretch: 18 minutes 15 seconds.
  • Median private show: 3 minutes 25 seconds. The average is 7m19s — a long tail of long shows pulls it up — and one show in ten passes 16 minutes.
  • Median member show: 4 minutes 54 seconds.

Method: 3,409,654 closed intervals, last 28 days. Percentiles on interval duration by status.

Free chat is 85% of the job

Of all live time in the last 28 days:

  • Free chat: 85.4% (1,111,489 hours)
  • Private shows: 9.6% (125,050 hours)
  • Member shows: 5.0% (65,501 hours)

For every hour a model spends in a paid private show, she spends nearly nine hours in free chat. That ratio is the economics of camming in one number.

And the paid slice is not small in absolute terms: 1,024,610 private shows started in 28 days — about 36,600 private shows a day across the four platforms.

Churn: two in five models go dark within a month

  • Of the 27,135 model profiles that existed 30 days ago, 42.4% (11,499) haven't streamed in the last 14 days.
  • Meanwhile ~2,300 new model profiles appear every week (10-week average; the range ran 1,354–4,139). The niche replaces itself at a rate no other creator economy we know of matches.

Method: cohort = profiles created before 12 July; "dark" = no logged stream since 28 July. Influx = new profiles first seen per calendar week.

Who's streaming, and from where

  • Of the live models we could geolocate (1,165 of ~2,250 live at our snapshot), Colombia is 44%, Romania 15%, Russia 14%, the United States 5%. Three countries account for 72% of geolocated live supply.
  • Median declared age: 25 (a quarter are 21 or under, a quarter 33 or over; average 27.8).
  • Languages, of ~2,250 live models (most list several): English 2,084, Spanish 981, French 419, Italian 326, German 158.

Method: geolocation is inferred and covers roughly half of live models — the shares are of the identified subset only, and we say so rather than pretending full coverage. Ages are the platforms' declared values.

What a private minute costs

  • On LiveJasmin (the one platform of the four that publishes a per-minute list price we can read; n=784 live models), the median price is $2.49 per minute; a quarter of models charge $2.99 or more and the 90th percentile is $3.49.
  • Put the medians together and a typical private show runs about $8.50 — an illustration, not a measurement, since the show-length median spans all four platforms.
  • Discounts are rare but deep: at pull time just 52 models in the whole 35k corpus were running an active "hot deal" — and of those, 26 were at 50% off and 17 at 70% off. Camming doesn't do small discounts.

The tech: camming is a 720p, landscape, desktop world

Of 1,109 live streams we probed directly:

  • Every one delivered at least 720p — but only 2.5% (28 streams) delivered 1080p or better. The "HD cam" era is, in practice, a 720p era.
  • Portrait streams: 2.5%. Mobile-broadcast streams: 3.3%. Fifteen years of vertical video have barely touched camming.
  • 38% of live models have an interactive toy paired (23% of all live models had it active at our snapshot).
  • 8.5% of live models carry the platform's "new model" flag.

Method: stream renditions read from the delivered manifests of live streams at probe time; toy status and newbie flags as reported by the platforms.

Who actually reads a cam site in 2026

One stat from our own server logs, because nobody else will print it. In the week of 4–11 August, sexcamfinder.com's origin served:

  • Verified Googlebot: 277 requests.
  • OpenAI's GPTBot: 85,798 requests — 310× Google.
  • ClaudeBot: 15,091. All AI crawlers together: 103,728 — 375× Google.
  • Yandex: 7,469. Bingbot: 4,407.

AI companies now read cam sites two orders of magnitude harder than Google does. Whatever the next interface for "who's live right now" turns out to be, it's already crawling.

Method: origin access logs; Googlebot verified by reverse DNS (66.249.x) — spoofed Googlebot UAs excluded.

What this data is, and isn't

  • The corpus is the four private-show platforms above. It does not include Chaturbate, Stripchat or other token-tip sites — so read every number as "across four major private-show platforms", not "the industry".
  • "Live" means the platform reported the model streaming to our poller. Polling has run continuously since 21 April 2026; a status flip shorter than the polling gap can be missed, so interval counts are floors.
  • Geolocation and language cover only the models that declare or reveal them; shares are always of the identified subset.
  • Prices are list prices, not negotiated or bundled rates, and only LiveJasmin's are readable.
  • Full tracking methodology, rating sources, and disclosure: how SexCamFinder tracks and rates cam models.
